Meet The Team
Mark Starks
Founder/Head Coach
Born in Los Angeles, Mark Starks excelled at Washington Prep High School and earned a partial scholarship to the historically Black men’s liberal arts (HBCU), university Morehouse College in Atlanta, GA, where he graduated with a B.A. in Political Science. As a standout athlete and student, Starks love for basketball endures throughcoaching, where he imparts fundamentals and teamwork to rising players.
Starks commenced his teaching career as the Lead Campus Aide at Green Dot Public Schools. He later transitioned to the role of Assistant Dean of Students at Crown Preparatory Academy and subsequently accepted the position of Head Coach for the varsity boys' basketball team at Math and Science College. During this period, Starks also founded the A-Team basketball program to give back to the sport that had been instrumental in his youth.
Currently, Starks serves as an assistant coach for the boys' basketball team at Chadwick School. His dedication to the game and passion for mentoring young athletes define his commitment to both his students and the sport of basketball.
